In this session, teachers of all grades will explore how to incorporate Scholastic’s Talk About non-fiction series for English language learners into their classroom program, providing a range of scaffolded supports for ELLs’ growth in speaking, reading and writing in English. We will also look at best practices, strategies and techniques for supporting English language learners in every classroom: tapping into and building on ELLs’ background knowledge, supporting their learning through their home language, and deepening their knowledge of the academic English they need to succeed in school.
