Words Their Way (WTW) is a K-12 developmental spelling, phonics and vocabulary program designed to be implemented as a balanced approach to reading, writing, fluency and comprehension. In this INTRODUCTORY workshop, participants will learn about the 5 stages of spelling development, how to implement the 3 Spelling Inventories used for assessment, and be engaged in the hands on 'word sort' approach to categorizing words and pictures. How to group students for differentiated instruction and organize a daily Words Their Way structure will also be discussed.
All participants are required to bring a duo-tang, scissors, glue stick and a highlighter.
