"I Will Not Yell in Class, I Will not Throw Things, I Will Not Tease Other Kids...I Am the Teacher"--Introducing a Self-Regulation Framework That Works
Presented by: Jennifer Smith, Melissa Jawaorski, Suzy Potts
Date(s):
Monday, March 18, 2019 | 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Session Location:
River Bend Golf and Recreation Area 3800 River Bend Drive, Red Deer, AB
About the Session:

Self-regulation is an important skill children need in order to effectively identify their emotions, the causes of the emotion, and what to do in order to return to a calm state, ready to engage in learning. Inquiry learning, provocations, collaboration, mindfulness, communication, and self-regulated learning all require children to be able to co-regulate with others and eventually self-regulate. We will explore what we NEED to do as teachers and educators in order to effectively begin to teach self-regulation to our children.
