This series will look at unpacking the understanding surrounding Concept Based Curriculums and learning through 3 sessions designed to step participants through the understanding a little at a time. The sessions are well designed for administrators and/or school learning teams who would like to engage their staffs in the same process but would be valuable to teachers interested in the subject as well.
All powerpoints and handouts will be designed and provided so schools have time to work through the process with their own staff.
Chris Zarski is currently the Director of Curriculum and Staff Development for St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools. Over her 39 years in education she has served as a teacher, teaching administrator, Examiner for Learner Assessment at Alberta Education and co-authored and served as the assessment and pedagogical consultant on 16 math resources. Chris also believes that we need to engage our students in their learning and has over the years replaced ‘note books with Foldables (graphic organizers)! She believes in active learning and that we can teach all children to learn at high levels.
Request for cancellation or refund must be received in writing (fax/email) at the CARC office a minimum of 3 FULL business days prior to the event start, or registration fees will apply and refunds will not be issued. If you are unable to attend a session and unable to provide three FULL business days’ notice, please feel free to delegate an alternate to attend in your place.
