About the Session:

Our comprehensive, easy-to-use curriculum uses engaging multisensory techniques and research-based methods to make handwriting a natural and automatic skill for children of all ages and abilities. We use a fun hands-on approach to develop good skills and teach correct letter formation.

The K-5 Handwriting Workshop provides dynamic instruction in the teaching methodology from kindergarten through cursive. Includes an introduction to the developmental progression of written production skills, from handwriting to keyboarding!

About the Presenter(s):
Vanessa Silver, MS, BCET

Vanessa Silver, M.S., BCET is the owner of Silver Lining Educational Services, Inc. She has a private practice as a Board Certified Educational Therapist in Los Angeles and is a former resource specialist with LAUSD. She has earned and maintains her Multiple Subject (General) Education and Special Education (Mild/Moderate) Credentials and holds a Resource Specialist Certificate in California. Her extensive background in the field of reading disabilities, dysgraphia, and educational assessment is being furthered as she works toward her Fellowship with the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators. She homeschools and remediates children with cognitive and specific learning disabilities as well as assesses. She has been in the education field since 1998 and served on the local and national boards of the California Association of Resource Specialists (CARS+), Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), and Association for Educational Therapists (AET). She is listed in Who’s Who in American Education. Vanessa has proudly been presenting all levels of workshops nationally and internationally for Handwriting Without Tears® since 2000.

Cancellation Policy:

Request for cancellation or refund must be received in writing (fax/email) at the CARC office a minimum of 7 FULL days prior to the event start, or registration fees will apply and refunds will not be issued. If you are unable to attend a session and unable to provide seven FULL days’ notice, please feel free to delegate an alternate to attend in your place. CARC also reserves the right to cancel an event within the 7 calendar days due to unforeseen circumstances such as facility closures, terrorist threats, natural disasters or extreme inclement weather (-35 C or colder). Cancellation notices should be sent to npenney@carcpd.ab.ca.
