L’inclusion est toujours un aspect notable de notre enseignement et donc, exige du soin constant.  Ce Webinaire servira comme « tremplin » pour une série d’événements l’année prochaine (6 rencontres virtuelles d’un club de lecture et une journée de perfectionnement professionnel au printemps 2020) dédiée à une exploration plus profonde de l’inclusion dans les classes de français langue seconde.   Ancré au livre, Accès au succès : Faciliter l’inclusion pour les apprenants de langues (Pearson Education Canada 2017) et animé par une des co-auteures du livre, Katy Arnett, ce webinaire offrira un petit goût de la communauté professionnelle et des travaux possibles de ce groupe pour l’année prochaine.  Soyez prêt à analyser des cas d’études et de partager vos expériences et vos questions liées à vos efforts de faciliter une classe plus inclusive.  Katy facilitera aussi les événements l’année prochaine.

About the Presenter(s):
Dr. Katy Arnett

is a faculty member at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where she is a Professor and Director of Teacher Education. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. from OISE/UT. A former high school French teacher and Fulbright Scholar, Katy has focused much of her work as a scholar on accessible second language learning, seeking research and writing opportunities that allow her to help teachers make their second language learning settings as inclusive as possible. She is also the author of Languages for all: How to support and challenge students in a second language classroom (Pearson Canada, 2013) and co-senior author of Point de Connexion (Pearson Canada, 2015). For over a decade, she has designed and led over 100 workshops on inclusive second language teaching across Canada. She is an Honorary Research Associate at the Second Language Research Institute of Canada at the University of New Brunswick.

Cancellation Policy:

Request for cancellation or refund must be received in writing (fax/email) at the CARC office a minimum of 7 FULL days prior to the event start, or registration fees will apply and refunds will not be issued. If you are unable to attend a session and unable to provide seven FULL days’ notice, please feel free to delegate an alternate to attend in your place. CARC also reserves the right to cancel an event within the 7 calendar days due to unforeseen circumstances such as facility closures, terrorist threats, natural disasters or extreme inclement weather (-35 C or colder). Cancellation notices should be sent to npenney@carcpd.ab.ca.
