This session is designed for District Leads and will provide insights into understanding Concept Based Instruction and a possible approach to rolling it out in your jurisdiction. All activities and presentations will be shared so participants can adapt them for their own use.
Chris Zarski is currently the Director of Curriculum and Staff Development for St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Schools. Over her 39 years in education she has served as a teacher, teaching administrator, Examiner for Learner Assessment at Alberta Education and co-authored and served as the assessment and pedagogical consultant on 16 math resources. Chris also believes that we need to engage our students in their learning and has over the years replaced ‘note books with Foldables (graphic organizers)! She believes in active learning and that we can teach all children to learn at high levels.
Request for cancellation or refund must be received in writing (fax/email) at the CARC office a minimum of 7 FULL days prior to the event start, or registration fees will apply and refunds will not be issued. If you are unable to attend a session and unable to provide seven FULL days’ notice, please feel free to delegate an alternate to attend in your place. CARC also reserves the right to cancel an event within the 7 calendar days due to unforeseen circumstances such as facility closures, terrorist threats, natural disasters or extreme inclement weather (-35 C or colder).
