TARGET AUDIENCE: FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE TEACHERS GRADES 4-12 ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

Would you like to have the opportunity to practice your French language skills in a low-risk environment with like-minded colleagues? La Jasette is a perfect opportunity for you! With the three-fold goal of developing oral French proficiency, teachers also network with colleagues who work in second-language setting and engage in interactive language tasks that can be adapted to their classrooms.

About the Presenter(s):
Lesley Doell

French Program Facilitator, DELF Centre Director, French Resource Centre Director, University Instructor, French Immersion teacher and now National French Immersion Consultant for ACPI, Lesley has held many roles in the world of French language education. She is the former president of the Canadian Association of Immersion Professionals (ACPI) where she spent ten years leading several successful national initiatives pertaining to French Immersion. Lesley holds a Master’s in Education from Centre de recherche en études franco-ontariennes of the University of Toronto in Curriculum and Instruction. She is honored to have been named a “Chevalier” in the Order of the Academic Palms from the French Republic in 2015 for her work in promoting the French language and culture outside of Quebec. She currently serves as Vice-President of the North American Commission (CAN) of the International Federation of French Professors (FIPF) and enjoys sharing her insights and expertise worldwide, as well as at a national, provincial and school district level.  A lifelong learner, Lesley’s passion for the French is contagious.

Cancellation Policy:

Request for cancellation or refund must be received in writing (fax/email) at the CARC office a minimum of 7 FULL days prior to the event start, or registration fees will apply and refunds will not be issued. If you are unable to attend a session and unable to provide seven FULL days’ notice, please feel free to delegate an alternate to attend in your place. CARC also reserves the right to cancel an event within the 7 calendar days due to unforeseen circumstances such as facility closures, terrorist threats, natural disasters or extreme inclement weather (-35 C or colder). Cancellation notices should be sent to npenney@carcpd.ab.ca.
