About the Session:

We are proposing a collaboration day for our Literacy Leads community on  May 27th from  1:00-3:00.

Kim and I wanted to reach out to you and offer an opportunity to connect as we navigate the end of this school year and plan for the onset of a new one come fall.

About the Presenter(s):
Cheryl Gascoyne

Cheryl Gascoyne is an educator with over 20 years in the profession as a classroom teacher, intervention specialist, literacy coach & district coordinator. Cheryl has experience working at the district level allowing her the opportunity to develop trusting relationships with administrators, teachers, and district colleagues. She has experience leading a number of initiatives in both Learning and Inclusive Education, such as developing and overseeing programs in Early Literacy, Response to Intervention, and Adolescent Literacy. Cheryl enjoys working with school districts to understand what their needs are in literacy, intervention and assessment, and to assist them with visioning, planning and creating an effective process, and the means of support to move them forward.


Kim Wedman

Kim Wedman is currently the Learning Services Coordinator for Wild Rose School Division and has taught over 20 years as a classroom teacher, student support facilitator, and district coordinator for both learning and inclusive education.  In her portfolio she supports instruction and assessment with students K-12 with expertise in literacy, numeracy, and intervention strategies.  Kim has taught K-12 and believes strongly in student-centred personalized learning for all.  Kim lives in Rocky Mountain House with her husband, Greg and two boys, Daniel and Blake.

Cancellation Policy:

Request for cancellation or refund must be received in writing (fax/email) at the CARC office a minimum of 7 FULL days prior to the event start, or registration fees will apply and refunds will not be issued. If you are unable to attend a session and unable to provide seven FULL days’ notice, please feel free to delegate an alternate to attend in your place. CARC also reserves the right to cancel an event within the 7 calendar days due to unforeseen circumstances such as facility closures, terrorist threats, natural disasters or extreme inclement weather (-35 C or colder). Cancellation notices should be sent to npenney@carcpd.ab.ca.
