The positive mental health of students is always a priority but of even greater importance during the pandemic and the return to school. This session will provide an overview of some of the mental health concerns for youth as a result of COVID-19, help participants understand the unique vulnerability of youth due to adolescent brain development, and provide a strengths-based positive psychology approach to supporting the mental health of high school students.
Bev Baker-Hofmann is a Registered Psychologist with extensive experience in supporting the positive mental health and wellbeing of children and youth, families and educators. With a curiosity for exploring new pathways, Bev has worked in schools and systems as a teacher, counsellor, consultant, coach, district office leader and Education Ministry interchange and has now returned once more to private practice.
