About this Learning Opportunity

THIS IS A VIRTUAL INDEPENDENT STUDY. ALL SESSIONS ARE PRE-RECORDED AND CAN BE ACCESSED AT YOUR CONVENIENCE.

This series will provide a review of all manipulatives available to be used in mathematics.  Many of these have multiple uses and can help support all learners on their journey through mathematics. Participants will receive a link that will take them to a folder of pre- recorded sessions, each focusing on the use of a particular manipulative. Each manipulative session will begin at an introductory level moving up in complexity as the manipulative is applied to higher concepts.  Participants will choose which session they wish to watch and when they wish to watch. You will be able to go in and out as needed - no time limit! This will provide teachers who would like a refresher in some of the common manipulatives in schools or perhaps to explore a new one to add to your pedagogical tool bag!

This learning opportunity is being subsidized through funding from Alberta Education.
