Effective Elementary Writing Assessment and Instruction
In this four-part Webinar series, based on Adrienne Gear’s popular book Powerful Writing Structures, participants will learn how to develop an effective, process-based writing program. You will work alongside Adrienne as she shows you how to set writing goals, develop a writing routine with your students, teach a wide range of mini lessons, establish a balance between structure and unstructured writing time, and explore writing structures including personal narrative, nonfiction, and story writing. Adrienne will share many practical lessons and wonderful anchor books to help you target your instruction and have your students writing with more confidence and competence. Come to this series and leave with some ready-to-use ideas to transform your writing program from "Awww....Do we HAVE to write?" to "Yah! We GET to write!!!!"
Session 1: Introduction to an effective, targeted writing program including: writing assessment, writing goals, writing routines, writing mini lessons, and new ideas for journal writing.
Session 2: A closer look at PERSONAL NARRATIVE WRITING
